Moranbah North Mine is one of Anglo American’s leading underground longwall mining operations having been awarded the Australian Coal Mine of the Year and Australian Mine of the Year in 2017 & 2018. Located at Moranbah, approximately two hours’ drive west of Mackay in Central Queensland, this is a great opportunity for those people wanting to join and contribute to our award-winning operation.
Our company exists to make a real difference for everyone whose lives we touch. We mine the materials that make modern life possible in ways that are safer, smarter, and more responsible. Anglo American has operated in Australia since 2000 and our portfolio includes metallurgical coal across five mines, both open-cut and underground.
Our people are at the heart of our business. It is our people who use the latest technologies to find new resources, plan and build our mines and who mine, process and move and market our products to our customers around the world.
Metallurgical coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate two open-cut and three underground metallurgical coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin; every year producing millions of tonnes of the highest quality hard coking coal for this purpose.
