Scale: R194 700,00 – R425 508,00 per annum
Estimated remuneration package: R247 816,76 – R541 592,26 per annum
Job purpose: To render an emergency medical service
Appointment requirements: Grade 12 Basic Ambulance Assistant Course or relevant qualification as determined by the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) Registration at the HPCSA A valid Code C driving license with a valid PrDP (competency to drive and operate a Code C license vehicle to be confirmed annually) Physical fitness and health
Appointment and progression to Senior and Leading levels are subject to obtaining further qualifications and experience as prescribed by the City of Tshwane
Willingness to be assigned to any geographical fire station in Tshwane Willingness and ability to work shifts and overtime with little or no notice
Personal attributes and/or competencies: Excellent communication skills; ability to work under pressure and in stressful situations; ability to meet deadlines; good organizational skills; ability to work with limited supervision; ability to make decisions and establish work priorities; emotional intelligence; intellectual and cognitive ability
Primary functions: Diagnose and treat patients Stabilise and transport patients Conduct pre-hospital triage of patients Ensure fleet, asset, and medical consumables management Complete clinical documentation Ensure compliance to Emergency Services Department standard operating procedures, checklists and protocols, and relevant legislative policies
