ASSISTANT DIRECTOR: SMME PROGRAMME DEVELOPMENT & DESIGN (LED) REF NO: ASD LED

SALARY: R376 596 per annum

CENTRE: Pretoria

REQUIREMENTS: An appropriate undergraduate qualification (NQF level 7) in Public Administration/ Business Management/Development Studies/ Economics. Minimum of 3 years experience at a Functional Specialist level. Computer Literacy (MS Office Packages). An additional advantage to those in possession of a B/EB driver’s license. Possess skills in problem-solving, planning, organising, analytical thinking, interpersonal, client orientation, customer relations/focus, advanced stakeholder relations, service delivery, innovation and networking.

DUTIES: Conduct research aimed at identifying best practices for new programmes for informal businesses. Research implementation challenges on existing models, programmes and mechanisms. Conduct comparison studies between the available tools on the informal sector ecosystem to assist in selecting the best fit for the South Africa informal businesses. Provide technical and administrative support service. Draft designs for new models, programmes and mechanisms to accelerate the development of informal businesses. Coordinate the pilot of new and revised models, programmes and mechanisms. Pilot programmes to test readiness for implementation or where adjustments should be made to new and improved programmes. Conduct monitoring inspections and write inspection reports on the implementation of informal businesses programmes. Implement norms and standards, identify weaknesses and gaps in service delivery and implement innovative opportunities to improve service delivery. Communicate with internal, external stakeholders. Draft general (basic to complex) correspondence such as response letters, emails, status reports, presentations, memos, and submissions. Give advice on procedural and technical related matters in respect of policies, procedures and strategies to ensure compliance.
