Job Purpose: The Western Cape Government, Department of Transport and Public Works – Government Motor Transport has an employment opportunity for a competent individual to render an effective general vehicle rental service and administration support to the Fleet Rental Services section. The successful incumbent must be innovative, self-motivated, and punctual. This post is stationed in George.

Minimum Requirements: Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification); A valid code B (manual) driving license.

Recommendation: Relevant working experience in an administrative environment.

Key Performance Areas: Administration of the hiring/booking of government vehicles; Inspection of vehicles prior to hiring out and on return; Coordinate vehicle preparation and maintenance; License distribution of GMT Rental vehicles; Administration within the section; Coordinating accident and losses reports for GMT Rental vehicles.

Competencies: A good understanding of the following: National, provincial and departmental policies, prescripts and practices governing the work; Appropriate computerized systems (Fleetman); Departmental structures and procedures; Basic knowledge of technical aspects of vehicles; • Communication (written and verbal) skills; Organisational skills; Ability to work in a team and independently; Ability to work under pressure; Good leadership skills.

Remuneration: R 173 703 per annum (Salary Level 5) Note on remuneration: Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees’ service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
