DRIVER: GOVERNMENT MOTOR TRANSPORT (GMT) REF NO: TPW 45/2021 (X5 POSTS)
SALARY: R102 534 per annum (Level 02)
CENTRE: Department of Transport and Public Works, Western Cape Government
REQUIREMENTS: Ability to read and write/Adult Basic Education and Training (ABET); A minimum of 7-months relevant experience; A valid driving license (Code B or higher). Competencies: Good knowledge and understanding of the following: Procedures to operate the motor vehicle ego procedures to obtain trip authorities, complete the logbooks of the motor vehicle, to obtain basic services (e.g. fixing a flat tire); Prescripts for the correct utilization of the motor vehicle e.g. how and for what purposes can the motor vehicle be utilized, what is the requirements for the storage of the vehicle; Procedures to ensure that the motor vehicle is maintained properly; Planning and organizing skills; Ability to work in a team and independently; Communication skills.
DUTIES: Drive light and medium motor vehicles to transport passengers and deliver other items (mail and documents); Do routine maintenance on the allocated vehicle and report defects timely; Complete all required and prescribes records and logbooks with regard to vehicle and goods handled.
