The Contract Specialist provides sourcing and contractual support on negotiable operational spend to the Category Manager. This role is a Supply Chain role and provides strategic sourcing capability across the De Beers GoC – directly supporting the wholly managed business units and indirectly supporting the joint ventures.
The purpose of the Contract Specialist is to support the management of the supply of strategic commodities and strategic services to the De Beers Group of Companies (GoC), in order to ensure maximum benefit and value and operational compliance, in line with the organization’s strategic needs ensuring minimized risk to the business.

- Tender & Contract Management and Administration
- SAP ARIBA Administration (contracting and sourcing modules)
- Data Analysis & Reporting
- Effective market analysis
- Constructive interpersonal relations maintained
- Enablement of the strategic sourcing function
- Knowledge transfer to the community of practice
- Matric/ Grade 12 Mathematics
- Current studies towards a commercial/purchasing qualification are critical
- 1-year experience in a general administrative environment
- Exposure to Supply Chain or a commercial environment
