Vodacom Project Manager: Commercial
The Commercial Project Manager role based within Vodacom Financial Services.
This role will be responsible for ensuring that Consumer Fintech programmes are planned, coordinated and communicated in a professional manner, keeping client stakeholders regularly informed of progress, and ensuring that all stakeholder expectations are managed and that client commitment is consistently met. This is a unique opportunity where you will execute the strategy for the VodaPay initiative including management of external stakeholders and the data analytics function to support the related commercial activities.
Your responsibilities will include:
Liaise and work with the various stakeholders and Business Unit Executive Heads to align the objectives/outcomes of the assigned programme with the Business Units overall strategy and goals.
Business Development Engagement & Project Planning:
Engage in business development opportunities well in advance of contract signature to ensure thorough capture of client requirements and hold a project kick-off as early as possible.
Prepare and deliver client programme plan to ensure accurate expectations are set and advise clients of any critical project milestones.
Provide professional end-to-end Programme Management for Clients.
Apply & assure end-to-end Project Methodology and ensure high-quality results.
Ensure that programme delivery activities are coordinated between the Client, Sales account team, and internal groups.
Effectively manage programme budget.
Manage Risks, Actions, Issues & Dependencies
Assess, record & mitigate risks/dependencies against programme on-time delivery, quality &/or budget
Lead cross-functional teams to take preventative (& corrective) action on any programme related issues and escalate as required to ensure client requirements and due dates are met.
General, Support and Administration
Ensure that programmes are documented to a high standard, communicated and agreed with the client according to the Project Management Standards and the contract.
Ensure that NPS Client surveys are initiated at the completion of each project.
Communication: Communication is a key responsibility for the role as it will need to work closely with clients, and various stakeholder to track progress and provide updates on any changes in strategy or priorities. The role will also entail reporting to Senior Management on the progress of individual projects and the overall program. Compile and communicate portfolio reports as agreed with stakeholders.
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Project management and Project management processes such as Prince II, X-pert, etc.
General Telecommunication knowledge
PC literate and absolute understanding and application of project management tools and techniques in a complex systems environment
New Product Development
Stakeholder and Relationship Management
Technical or commercial project management knowledge
A minimum of 5 years of extensive Programme Management skills and experience essential.
Successful track record of Programme/Project Managing complex inter-company initiatives.
System Management experience, both operational and upgrades.
A self-starter with a determination to succeed balanced with appropriate tact and diplomacy.
Must have technical/professional qualifications:
Relevant Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Project Management or related(essential)
Relevant Postgraduate (preferable)
