Qualifications Essential: – Matric – Retail Management Diploma – Business School/Technikon/University programmes in Risk and Loss Prevention/Forensics Preferred: – Three-year Diploma/Degree Labour Law/Criminal Law.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience KNOWLEDGE required: – Labour Law (Basic Conditions of Employment, Labour Relations Act, OHASA Act) – Justice (criminal procedure, prevention of organized crime) – SAPS (Private Security Industry Regulator Auth, South African Intruder Detection Services Association) – Trade and Industry (Consumer Protection Act) – Store Systems and Processes – OHASA Act – Project Management – Store Management – Financial Management SKILLS required: – Communication (verbal & written) – Attention to detail – Observation skills – Analytical skills – Computer literacy – Investigative skills – Negotiation skills.
Key Responsibilities 1. Deliver on and ensure implementation of the Operational Risk, Security/Safety and Loss Prevention Strategy: • Research and formulation • Communication and obtain buy-in with all GM Operations for SBU’s to align • Oversee the implementation (Internal/External) 2. Operational Governance – Management of Operational Risk (statistical and analysis reports) and Loss Prevention through the management of • Stock • In-store administration, risk and security • Incident investigation and loss prevention plans for stores and Support Centre • High risk and ICU stores • OHASA legislation, compliance and management reporting 3. Research, development, recommendations and facilitation of loss prevention strategies/system solutions/enhancements and process enhancements for in-store efficiencies 4. Management: • Financial Management • Stakeholder Management / Customer Focus • Talent Management.

We are looking for a dynamic Senior Leader to head up the Ackermans Operations Risk and Admin function nationally. The successful candidate will manage a large team and must be analytical as well as an innovative solutions-driven individual, who understands how to support the broader business. The purpose of the role is to provide a consistent, comprehensive service to the Operations Teams within Ackermans, relating to Operational Risk, Security, Safety and Loss prevention in order to reach strategic business plans and a high level of Operational governance, with compliance to certain laws, rules, regulations and acts.
